Recently there was a distressing announcement that layoffs at Bonterra had resulted in deep cuts to the ActionKit staff roster.
Given the significant place that ActionKit has in the world of Democratic campaigns and progressive advocacy, this was met with a fair amount of hand-wringing. (For examples, see LinkedIn, C&E, The Intercept, Politico.)
Thankfully, news emerged this week that those layoffs were being at least partially rescinded, with several staffers being rehired, support hours restored, and plans made for another client conference following the 2024 election cycle.
Let’s hope this change represents a long-term commitment to this vital advocacy platform.
